Looking for beauty daily...
this is me looking for beauty in the little things; things that may not be all that earth-shattering or noticeable to others, but that make my outlook on life better and brighter. This is my holy experiment.

The Big Picture
Promotional material for the play The Big Picture describes it as "the story of the Bible in under two hours. Orthodox, but creative, the story travels from creation to nation to incarnation to revelation. Devastatingly simple and breathtakingly imaginative." After sitting through this show, I would have to agree.
Val Lieske, the artistic director for Fire Exit Theatre, which brought the play to Calgary, says this about the production, "There is something very raw and authentic of the way these Bible stories are told. It's a fastmoving show and for me, it really connected the dots. I saw the Bible as not just a series of stories, but one big narrative. It's powerful to take a step back and look at the Bible as a love story. It's the story of the Creator pursuing His creation... It's all connected; one beautiful story. (quoted in the Calgary Herald, Feb 4, 2012)"
Put together by the Arts Engine, which includes the fantastic acting of Jason Hildebrand, this production is sweet and powerful, emotional, and full of humorous moments. It portrays a love story, indeed.

fried bananas
Yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy!!!
Last week I had fried bananas at a Thai/Malaysian restaurant in Edmonton called Tropika.
It was so wonderfully good, that I had to try to make it myself at home.
Pictured above is my version, based on an online recipe I found (posted by Tiffany L. Brown).IJ
It was delicious and I'm definitely going to try it again soon (Valentines day, perhaps??). :D

my beautiful day
What a great day! Hanging out at Market Collective with my friend watching Transit's performance (here's a link to his I'm so Indie song, mentioning Market Collective), having a sunny winter picnic of baked bree, crackers, star fruit and hot chocolate with the hubby and now a Sherlock Holmes marathon, featuring both the 1950's version with Ronald Howard and the current Benedict Cumberbatch series!

I'm a foxy readhead.
I'm beautiful. And sometimes I need to remind myself of that. My husband certainly reminds me a lot, and that helps.

for my hubby away today
I'm sick... :(
I have a cold - I'm not a man, but I do have a cold.
And I wish my hubby was here with me.
